Fergie's Favorite Shampoo
Did you know we add Neem Oil to 'My Dog Fergies Shampoo'? Incredibly interesting stuff, Neem oil is. Taken from the bark and leaves of the Neem tree which grows mostly in Asia, Africa, and Central and South America, Neem is a natural insect repellent against fleas, ticks, and biting insects. It's also effective in the treatment of mange and can be safely used on most animals. Simply put, Neem oil just plain helps dogs!
We add Neem oil to My Dog Fergie's Shampoo for the benefits of a shiny, soft coat and healthy, problem-free skin. If one bathes their dog often with a harsh, detergent based shampoo, the natural oils that protect the skin and that are necessary for your dog's comfort and skin health, will be stripped away resulting in problem-producing scratching and itching. Fergie's detergent-free shampoo is so gentle and mild, it only removes the excess oil and dirt, leaving behind a soft to the touch, shiny coat and a fresh, clean, appealing scent. Natural Oils vs Organic Oils
It's our feeling that there's been considerable confusion out there about Natural Oils vs Organic Oils and we'd like to clarify: We use mostly natural oils in our products, as there is no direct advantage in using Organic Oils in our manufacturing process.
When we manufacture our shampoo, all of the oils we use are combined with sodium hydroxide and are chemically changed to the point that the unique properties separating natural from organic are virtually eliminated by nature of the "saponification" process the individual ingredients go through to become a singular new item called soap, or in our instance a shampoo bar (because of the formulation we use).
By not using organic oils in our formulations we can save customers a great deal of money and not suffer any loss in quality what so ever. Where Organic Oils can make a noticeable difference is when they are taken internally or used topically. We do use Organic Oils in some products like our Foam Face & Body Washes, as well as at least two of our most popular Bar Shampoos, where they can used directly.
In the instance of our Shampoos, the Organic Jojoba Oils are added just before the end of the mixing process, so as to keep as much of the original properties of the Organic Oils intact. This is where Organic Oils are used in a proper manner. Where they can be utilized by the body.
JRL what a concept
Me, my recipes (I love to cook), my adventures, my favorites, my discoveries, why health is the ultimate goal, why I consider the Earth a pretty important chunk of stuff.
This part of each "Soap Box" will be all mine. HA! HA! HA! It's all mine, It's all mine... OK lets get past that. I have a lot of positions when it comes to living a life here on our planet - Earth. The first is waste.
Waste not want not! My parents grew up in the Great Depression - 90 years ago - WOW not many around to remember that, now are there? Just thinking about when there was so little food, no money, people lost their farms and homes - it helps to give our present lives a little perspective. Yes, there are similarities today to what previous generations went through, but here at JRL we want to reinforce what's most important to us all - family, security, health, making things last - like our shampoo!"
I believe in getting value for what you buy. Guess that is why my Bars of Shampoo are so high on my list. I discovered this Old New England Saw: "Use it up, wear it out. Make it do, or do without." It was utterly profound!
This was the embodiment of the concept of my Shampoo Bars. I decided right then and there to put it on each and every bar I sold.
It is really the embodiment of the philosophy for my whole life.
