CARRY-ON SHAMPOO
CONVENIENT, AIRLINE FRIENDLY

The photo above was taken August 13, 2006 inside the American Airlines departure area at Salt Lake International Airport, Salt Lake City, UT.

After attending the Outdoor Retailers Show in SLC I was interested in finding out whether the Bar Shampoo we have been manufacturing and selling under the J.R.LIGGETT’S® brand for 20 years, would be acceptable for use as a carry-on item by airline travelers. Our shampoo is neither a liquid or gel.  So while going through the TSA security area, getting “puffed”, scanned, and possibly x-rayed we came out clean – except that one of the TSA Security Officials wanted to go through my carry-on bag. A Natural Traveler® with a bar of our shampoo was in this bag so now was the time to see if there were any problems in carrying it on board with me.

While two TSA Officials went through my bag I mentioned that we had just exhibited at the OR show. They asked what we made, and I told them a Bar Shampoo, promptly showing them samples.  I also showed and demonstrated how The Natural Traveler worked and how many uses there are for The Traveler. It is designed primarily as a hair shampoo, but also works extremely well as a very gentle body soap, a shaving soap, and it also loves fabrics. Clean socks, t-shirts, underwear etc. while traveling with no detergents, this is good news for all the people that are allergic to detergents. No spilling in your baggage either.

The TSA Officials were quite impressed with our shampoo and for its ability to be substituted as a carry-on alternative to all the liquids and gels that now must be checked. Most airline travelers prefer not to check bags, it saves time, and reduces the possibly of lost or damaged luggage.
